  Reading the good reviews and seeing the pictures of a historic rustic lodge with delicious breakfast lured us to this hotel. I hope it doesn't do the same to you. The lodge from the outside was quite nice; a large green yard close to the beautiful lake almanor (sorry if I spelled it wrong). And the rooms weren't that bad either. The floor was creaky, no ac, and there was some peeled paint, but what can I say, it is a historic rustic lodge after all. Rooms by themselves are 3 stars. So we snuggled in our clean blankets, waiting for the morning when we knew we would have delicious breakfast. After all, one of the most important parts of a bed and breakfast, is the breakfast, right? Well. If that's so, this is the cheapest (in terms of quality), plainest, and least unique breakfast I have ever had at a b&b. The first part of the "critically acclaimed breakfast" was simply raisin bran (yes, the cereal) lazily dumped in store bought yogurt served in a supposedly fancy cup, which is likely from an Ikea outlet. Notice how everything I just said was store bought. Might as well give us the ingredients, because this meal took no skill or perfection to prepare. The second part of breakfast was eggs Benedict on an English muffin. Again, everything here was store bought. And this part had bacon in it, which is very inconsiderate for vegetarians, who will have to eat yogurt with cereals for breakfast. And what about people who are vegan and gluten free? You'll end up drinking coffee for breakfast, and that's it! And even worse, we didn't get any fresh fruits (unless you count the genetically sweetened Raisin Bran raisins)! Rooms weren't bad, but this is not the type of breakfast I expect when I go to a bed and breakfast!
